Café marron – Kafé maron (Coffea mauritiana)
afé marron is a nativ plant of Reunion and Mauritius Island. It’s rich in anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory action makes it traditionally used as “rafrésisan”. It’s known for its diuretic, decongestant and sedative properties of the urinary tract. In internal use, the decoction of the sheets is recommended to relieve the retention and urinary infections ( cystitis, nephritis,..) it would be also useful in the event of diabetes.
In external use, the decoction of the sheets is instilled in the eye or in compress, several times per day to relieve the ocular affections ( keratitis, conjunctivitis, cataract,..)
-Internal use : boil 12 leaves in 1L of water for 10 min and drink throughout the day.
-Usage externe :boil 3 leaves in a cup of water for 10 min. Use the chilled decoction in the eye or with a compress, several times per day, until the eye issues improve.
